| HOW TO PROPERLY CLEAN YOUR WINE BOTTLES FOR REFILLING
|
|
Your bottles must already be clean upon your arrival at the event.
We will not be able to put wine into a dirty or moldy bottle. We
reserve the right to refuse to fill any bottle we deem unacceptable
from a cleanliness standpoint.
Here are some hints for preparing your bottles
for refilling:
Fill your sink or other large basin with hot
water and about half a box of baking soda per sink of water. Let
the bottles soak in this strong alkaline solution until any wine
stains are gone and the labels slide off. It is crucial to rinse
the inside several times with clean hot water, drain, and store
in a wine carton neck down. This will prevent mold from forming
in any leftover liquid in the bottom of the bottle.
If you have just finished a bottle, it is
much easier to clean it right then! Rinse the inside several times
with hot water, drain, then store as described above. Normally this
will be sufficient cleaning and the bottles will be ready for filling
next time.
Putting your bottles in the dishwasher does
not clean the inside of the bottle, and may leave a soap residue
that could taint the wine!

CORK
EQUITY:
A method of saving big money and having lots of
fun by getting hands-on involvement assisting in the bottling,
corking, and labeling of your own premium wine. Like sweat equity
- but with no sweat.
Early in our history as a winemaking family,
some customers would drop by the winery with their empty jugs.
Our Grandparents, Emilio and Emilia Guglielmo, would entertain
them with stories, wine, and often Italian songs played on an
accordion, while filling their jugs. We invite you to relive this
part of our past for this special "Bottle-Your-Own"
event circa 2009.
Over 6,000 wine lovers have turned up at the cellar door on our
Cork Equity Days looking for a great
bottle of wine at a great price. Few have been disappointed! Dont
miss your chance to meet friends, have some fun, hear some great
Italian music, enjoy complimentary bread & cheese and
get some very tasty wine in the bargain! Plus!! Live Italian accordion
music!!
Cork Equity Blend #28
Our Cork Equity #28 was comprised of 2005, 2006 & 2007 Merlot
from Santa Clara and San Luis Obispo (51%), 2003 Santa Clara Valley
Sangiovese (21%) and 2007 Santa Clara Valley Petite Sirah (12%).
Rounding out the blend is mixed reds (16%) including Zinfandel,
Pinot Noir, Charbono, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah, all from Guglielmo
Private Reserve stock.
We feel our Cork Equity #28 displays richness and finesse not
usually associated with wines of this price.
EARN SOME SUSTENANCE!
Each person who purchases and bottles at least one case of "Cork
Equity wine" will be rewarded with one complimentary "Unlimited
Access Pass" to our Chefs Table
- featuring fresh-grilled Italian Sausage and other delectable
goodies. After all, youve earned it!
Additional Chefs Table passes are $5 each.
|
For the Cork Equity event, we have
resurrected our Cavalcade label
- first used by our grandfather and father to denote selected barrels
of wines that had received additional aging and were considered a
cut above the regular bottling of Emiles Private Stock wines.
Called Cavalcade Cellar Red,
this special wine will only be available at the event.
